I’ve got this bookmarked, Norm. I listened to a portion of it, but I want to hear the rest.
With the Marx material you have turned me on to, over the last two years, and living in this hell hole all of my life, I can’t help but believe Marx nailed capitalism for what it is.
But I also believe that what is at the very root of all of this economic hell on earth, is the fact that human beings are completely incapable of mentally and emotionally handling great wealth and power.
And all of this always brings me back to where I have been for a long time now: getting back to small self-governing/sustaining communities worldwide (Europe before feudalism), where the power is from the bottom up, and control can be maintained by the people, and we would be closer to a world where life would be worth living for all of humanity, and also for rest of the planet and its creatures.

I listened to the video, and he explained this in a way that even a dunce like me could understand. I agree, inequality is not the cause, but it is the outcome/product.
I was a little disappointed that he’s pandering the AGW crap, but he makes great sense on everything else.
I find it very depressing that capitalism is in some kind of continuous “if that, then this” loop. I just wish humanity would unite, then we wouldn’t need all of this excrement that keeps us divided and at war with each other.

Yes, on the AGW issue, not everyone is as informed as they might be. But that goes for everything and the fact that there are only so many hours in a day to analyse and think about anything at all. The point is, however, and Roberts is correct on this, even IF global warming were a real urgency, under a capitalist regime, it would not and could not be addressed in a meaningful way. Got to run . . .
